From the ground up — literally.
The story of Experta doesn't start in 2012 when the company was officially founded. It starts in the late 1980s, when our founders began their careers in tourism — learning the trade, building local networks, and developing the kind of deep destination knowledge that only comes from years on the ground.
Through the 1990s, they led programs and held director roles at Imaginative Traveller, one of the UK's pioneering adventure travel operators. Years of guiding international groups through Türkiye — learning what works, what doesn't, and what makes the difference between a trip and an experience.
By 2009, a clearer model was emerging: combine the quality and attention of private travel with the operational scale needed for group programs. In 2012, Experta Tours & Events was formally established in Istanbul to house what had already become a trusted ground operation for major international travel brands.
The years that followed brought partnerships with G Adventures, boutique operators across Europe, and in 2016 the role of National Geographic Journeys Türkiye responsible — one of the most demanding standards in experiential travel. Today we continue those partnerships while serving a growing network of agencies across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
What has never changed is the principle: every program we build for your agency belongs only to you. We don't share itineraries, we don't resell routes, and we don't offer your program to anyone else.
